ZIEGRA Chip-ice offers quick cooling through its large surface area to a temperature of exactly 0oC.
The ice never freezes together, it is dry and granular and thus simple
to handle. The housing of machine and bin is completely of stainless
steel (304). Above all, ZIEGRA ice machines are reliable.
In the Hospital
Here, ZIEGRA Chip-ice scores especially due to its irregular and loose form with the fixed temperature of - 0.5oC. The additional hygiene device prevents avoid - able formation of bacteria during standstill of the machine.

Mode of Operation
The
ZIEGRA Chip-Ice Automatic is a plug-in unit, only requiring connection to
water and electricity (machines with storage bin: provide melt water
drain).
Water flows from
the water chamber in the machine to find its own level in the ice
making cylinder The cylinder is surrounded by an evaporating coil,
freezing the water on the inside of the cylinder. The ice then is
removed from the cylinder wall in a thin layer by a worm which revolves
inside the cylinder and pushes the ice upwards Here, it is pressed
hard, frozen further and then broken off and ejected.
As the ice is
produced inside the cylinder, the refrigeration system of the ZIEGRA
Machines is completely sealed. Thus, refrigerant loss due to rotating
parts in the refrigeration system cannon occur.
Output guarantee
The production figures quoted are based on 20oC water temperature. Even at higher temperatures the ice produced is granular and dry, due to the special ZIEGRA technology.
